Chiropractors while pregnant?
I am having serious lower back pain and I am starting to look for healthy ways to keep myself fit and pain free during pregnancy. Has anyone ever had problems with chiropractic care while pregnant. I have a chiropractor who has plenty of experience with prenatal care in the chiropractic sense but I want to know what if any negative things have ever occurred due to adjustments. Any positives?? Would you recommendd it??
Absolutely! It’s a wonderful thing and can ease pregnancy discomfort and make labor better. Be sure you do see a chiropractor trained to work on pregnant patients though-not all are trained in that kind of care. Webster technique trained chiropractors can be found online at icpa4kids.org
I had chiropractic care during my pregnancy with my daughter, and because my chiropractor is a friend as well, she was there with me while I was in labor with my daughter, adjusting me throughout labor (I had an unmedicated/natural birth) and it was terrific. She also adjusted my daughter very shortly after she was born, too.
Chiropractic care can make you more comfortable and help your baby get into a good position during labor and make your labor easier.
What natural remedies are good for arthritis?
I have inflamatory oesteo arthritis and it is very painful. Any suggestions for some natural remedies?
I’m not sure where you are from, but here in Canada they have an all natural medicine called "Lakota." It has been a best-seller for years and years here. I tried Glucosamine but it did nothing for myself, personally. Within 2 days of going on Lakota "Rheumatoid Formula" I was virtually pain-free, it was unbelievable. I stopped taking it the past few weeks to see if it really was the Lakota that was making a difference, and the pain has returned so I am going back out to purchase some more at the local drugstore. If you are a non-Canadian resident, I would still ask your local Pharmacist and check out their website. I know how terrible it is to have an auto-immune disease, especially on a bad flare-up day, and I wish you nothing but the best of luck and best of health.
Chiropractic treatment during pregnancy…?
Is it safe to have lower back adjustments while pregnant. I’m just about 28 weeks along and every day I suffer from extreme lower back pain. It hurts so bad, that I want to cry myself to sleep. Does anyone have any input on this? Thank you in advance for responding.
I have worked for chiropractic offices in the past and in each of the offices that I worked at we did have pregnant patients. We had patients who were full term that while they did not get a full range of adjustments at that point were put on a roller table and things of that nature. Chiropratics for the most part are safe during pregnancy. I would just recomend going to a very reputable chiropractor who has experience with pregnant patients and with performing adjustments on someone who is as far along as you are and further along. You could very possibly have sciatica which is very common during pregnancy and is a shooting pain in the lower back, buttocks and legs (usually one sided). It is the result of the sciatic nerve having pressure placed upon it by the baby and extra weight/posture shift. Some relief can be offered through chiropractic adjustments. Good Luck!
If you exercise in the morning, should you eat before you work out?
I wake up every morning at 8 to exercise. Should I eat something before I workout? If so how long should I wait after eating to exercise? I don’t really have time in the morning so Im planning on just waking up and working out on a empty stomach.
Any opinions?
Just water and a piece of fruit should work.
How long until my neck pain goes away while seeing a chiropractor?
I’ve been going to a chiropractor for 9 weeks now, going twice a week. I started out with severe neck and shoulder pain. The pain has decreased drastically, but still have some pain. My mid back is extremely tight and not adjusting when I go. My dr. says neck and shoulder pain take longer to fix, but how long will I continue to have pain?
Ooops, I just read that says 9 weeks, I meant to type 3 weeks.
I’ve worked in the chiropractic field for 10+ years.
You should ask him if he’s in favor of placing a hot pack on your mid back for 10+ minutes before he adjusts you. This will help relax your mid back muscles and he should be able to get some movement.
As for how long it will take to "fix" – each patient is different as is each injury. But be prepared to continue with a "maintenance program" even after the pain goes away. Most Chiropractors like to keep you under their care for a minimum of 12 months.
I wish you a speedy recovery soon!
How to find comfort when suffering from arthritis?
My mother has arthritis in both knees. Her cartilage has worn out and now she suffers from severe pain in both of her knees. She is already taking prescription medications for it which don’t seem to help. She took shots in both of her knees to help with the pain but after a few months it wears off.
If you are suffering from very bad arthritis and you get relief somehow, please do share with me how you get relief.
She needs referral to an orthopaedic surgeon who will assess her pain and the arthritic damage to her knees. She may need joint replacements or keyhole surgery. Sometimes steroid injections help but they often wear off. A physiotherapist will teach her exercises that may help – swimming is a good way of keeping your joints supple. Also see:

How to exercise without going to a gym?
I normally go to a boxing gym to get my exercise in but recently my working patterns are making this very difficult. I live in a very small apartment and can’t really make much noise. I also can’t really go jogging outside because I live in a bit of a rough area and would only be home at night. I can’t afford to go to a gym that would be open during the late nights, How can I get my exercise in? I hate it when I can’t exercise and really need some tips on how to do it indoors.
You can pick up exersize bikes for really cheap, or you can get a mini trapette which is good exersize. If you don’t want to spend any money at all, do you have a step in your apartment, this is a very good workout, just stepping up and down. How about a skipping rope? that is fantastic exersize and builds your fitness level up quite rapidly (I expect you used to do this at the boxing gym). Good luck and I hope you find something you enjoy!
How can I get rid of neck pain due to playing a video game?
I played Halo last night for about three hours. Midway though playing I lowered the seat down. I think that’s why it hurts, because I had to look up at the screen a bit more.
I thought if I went to sleep and rested a bit, I’d feel fine the next day, but no, the pain is still there when I have my neck in certain positions. I can straigthen out my neck with a bit of pain, but can’t seem to arch it back anymore then that.
Anybody go through this before?
Bunch of stupid answers so far.
Of course I’m not playing anymore and the seat is back up.
If you don’t know what you’re talking about, what’s the point of answering?
This has happened to me for a long time. (seasoned gamer) I use a video game chair that has some head support or I try to stay level with the screen. Just try finding a way that makes your head you straight forward or down. That should help some. – Have fun owning noobs!-
How bad does my arthritis have to get before I can claim disability?
I have osteoarthritis in my neck, lower back, wrists and ankles. I take prescription anti inflamitories and muscle relaxers in order to go to work. I work 10 hrs a day on my feet constantly moving, stretching and bending. While this movement is good for my arthritis, it can get really painful by the end of the day. I feel like I am up a creek without a paddle most of the time, especially after a 3 day workout. Then I just totally crash. I am tired of waking up with swollen hands, having a crick in my back and limping for a while after sitting down for 30 minutes.
yes speak with ur doctor,,,or a good doctor.Every state has different laws in regards to disability..Every lawyer wants u on disability,,thats how the disability lawyers get paid,,and they can streach it out 4 years,,,the longer they streach it the more of the back pay they owe u,,they get…plus the system is sooo screwed,,people get on it that dont need it and then they get jobs under the table,,proving that they can work..
If u need on disability,,find out what doctors works with what lawyers….The two have to have a Very good realationship…request for specialist and leave a good paper trail in regards of ur problem,,,ur state will be looking at the trail more than what u say…u need a good family doctor and several specialist that are willing to work together,,,good luck.
What are good exercises or stretches to ease hip pain?
I have had pain and stiffness in one hip ever since I had my second child (2 years ago). Can anyone suggest any exercises or stretches to ease the pain and possibly strengthen that area?
You can try out these hip strengthening exercises:
http://www.perfect-body-toning.com/hip-exercises.html
P/S: Don’t just think these hip exercises result in sensational looking hips only; in actual fact they really strengthen your hip muscles in the process…..This is killing 2 birds with 1 stone….
And these hip stretches:

With your condition, I suggest you do stretches first until you’re really comfortable and flexible in the hip area before venturing into hip strengthening exercises.
