What could be possible causes of my hip pain?

Okay, I’m only 13, but my hip pops all the time! And it’s starting to really hurt. I have had a knee issue so I sorta babied that leg for a while. Do you think I am just having pain from exerting one leg?

You need to see a chiropractor and he/she will fix the problem. Everyone needs to get adjustments once in a while. Also, physical therapy might help.

What are good exercises to ease hip pain?

Ever since I had my second daughter, I have been plagued with pain in my right hip. It feels muscular. Can anyone suggest exercises or stretches that could help?

Elbow pain, possibly ulnar nerve entrapment, any home treatments?

I’m hesitant to go to my doctor about this, because I’m sure he already thinks I’m a hypochondriac. I’ve been reading about elbow pain on the web, and from the symptoms, it sounds like I have ulnar nerve entrapment. I have a throbbing pain on the back of my arm just above the elbow, and tingling in my pinky and ring fingers. I know it’s from sitting at a keyboard and alt-tabbing about a zillion times a day.

I just need some (drug-free) suggestions on how to alleviate the pain. And please don’t tell me to cut off my arm or get a new job. Thanks!

Well for sure it sounds like you have epicondylitis. Which kind depends on whether your pain is on the inside (medial aka golfer’s elbow) or on the outside (lateral aka tennis elbow). Ulnar nerve probably indicates medial. Your nerve may not be trapped, but if you stick your fingers in the spaces between the bones on the inside of the elbow and bend it, do you feel the nerve (or something) popping in and out? If yes, it may be the cause of the problem. My doctor prescribed Indocin for a couple of weeks and now Naproxen (aleve). Inflammation is usually the cause of the acute pain and once I took the NSAID Indocen the pain changed to a more achy chronic kind of pain which the Naproxen is supposed to help. I have a padded cushion I wear on the elbow so the bony parts are not sitting on the hard desk when I type. I got it from a physical therapist. You could try a cushy mouse or wrist support under your elbow and see if that helps. My pain is worse with the arm bent, so every 20 minutes or so I make sure I stretch my arms. I hear ya about the hypochondriac thing, I worry too because I’m there 6 times a year for different stuff, but the doc should be able to feel the elbow and tell.

What is the best exercise for toning your legs and stomach?

I am doing running every day but I want something like sit ups, push ups, something like that to do every day as well that will tone my legs and my stomach together. Is there any such exercise? What is the best exercise and how long will it take for me to see results, when I pair the exercise with daily running?

I use this routine everyday after my cardio.

It’s a video on youtube where she shows you pilate like crunches.

it hurts at first but after awhile you’ll see results.

What can I do to ease back pain while driving?

I have a 2005 Pontiac Vibe. I drive it about 80 miles round trip 2-3 times per week. After each trip, I have pain in my mid-lower back.

I have explored new vehicles with lumbar support, but I’m not sure if that will really solve the issue.

Any suggestions on relieving back pain associated with an extended period of driving?

Im atrucker .I drive sometimes 12 hours a day. My vehicle has a lumbar air system .But the vehicle I drove before didnt / I went to my local auto parts store and bought a lumbar cushion. It fits right in the small of your back . That should help if you cant find one there. Try a drugstore or medical supply store.

Do nerves move in your back after a chiropractic adjustment?

This may seem strange but I had a chiropractic adjustment yesterday – and ever since I left the office it feels like nerves are just running up and down my back? Has anyone ever felt this before. No pain – it just feels like something is crawling in my back… If anyone knows anything about this please answer.

ACTUALLY, in response to the guy above me…Chiropractors have to take more Human Anatomy credits than Medical Doctors. So they’re very familiar with the human body.

And nerves move all the time. Adjustments can loosen up the soft tissue, but nothing bad comes out of a good adjustment. You may be a little sore, but the wiggly feeling will go away I’m sure. :)

Hope that helps.

Can you really get carpal tunnel from texting?

My main form of communication is text messaging (sad, I know) and I text an insane amount every day.
I wanted to know if you could actually get carpal tunnel from texting? And what exactly happens to your hand when you get carpal tunnel?

Some say yes, some say no.

New findings from Virgin Mobile reveal that:

• Latest figures from the MDA reveal that over 100 million text messages are sent every single day in the UK alone
• 3.8 million British mobile phone users suffer from text-related injuries
• 38% people suffer from sore wrists and thumbs from texting
• Virgin Mobile link up with the British Chiropractic Association to help prevent Text Message Injury ( TMI )
• Visit www.practisesafetext.com for further information

Sensible advice
• If texting starts to hurt. Stop. Use the other hand or call instead
• Vary the hand you use
• Vary the digits you use
• Don’t text for more than a few minutes without a break
